Down at the allotment

Image
Been back down the allotment today building my new shed. I managed to get some garage doors off freecycle and have started to put them together. It was so hard to drill into the reinforced steel around the doors, I managed to bend two of my drill nits. Gave upin the end and turned the doors around so that I was screwing into fibreglass instead, it is still quite secure. The frame was quite easy to assemble. I think the hardest piece is going to be to fit the front section. I have got two upvc conservatory windows to fit as well as a door and the rest of the frame.

Well I have been down the allotment again this week. Lots of work has been done but until it starts growing then I still look at it thinking more can be done. There has been more work done since this picture was taken, with bark being place between the rows and canes have also been put up for my runner beans. The area that is covered at the bottom of the photo is now where a fruit cage is being built. I am using an old frame tent as the structure. I have just been to collect 5 old fibreglass garage doors that I will be using to build a shed with. I have also been given a door and two windows from a conservatory. I have now just got to build the frame to connect it all together. I have sown quite a lot of veg in my greenhouse and I am quite impressed with the growth so far. I have four different types of tomato growing, sweetcorn, cabbage and also cauliflower. The one that I am hoping will grow is Rhubarb, I have never grown it before so I just hope it works.
