A year on

So, it' been almost a year since my last post. Life goes on. Never a boring moment, well not really true. There is always a time of boredom.  Many gigs, festivals, gatherings that have happened this year. Poland with friends in Feburary, Wales with similar friends in March. Downliad festival rocked in June and then Spain and ressurection festival. Our first festival abroad and it was great. Onward to Rock n bike and then bloodstock. In October we did something we have never done before, 2 whole weeks on holiday in the sun. Off to Crete with some friends, enjoyed it so much we are planning to do it again. Then finally another festival in Great yarmouth.  Wooosh the year has flown. Is it really nearly xmas? A new year beckons and another full year is planned. Bratislava, Croatia, Download Bloodstock, etc etc. Lets see how this ones goes. Have a good one people, enjoy it lots.

Madness in charge

What is it with this stupid president of the USA. We will make America great again? America has always been great, but a shared greatness. Now it is heading to an insular great. Countries being alienated against it. People being abused by it and treated like inferior beings, just like they were when they treated their own country folk as different. America is a huge country, large enough to take extra citizens without damaging itself. They could even be used to rebuild the infastructure and industry that this president keeps going on about. There is a massive issue within their country, that many countries have or would deal with, which they are not willing to. GUN CONTROL. Children, adults from all races and religions being killed daily. They blame it on mental health. What a feeble excuse. How did that person get hold of a semi automatic weopan? How did that child get hold of a pistol? Easy, there is no control! Basically anyone can buy a gun, whether it be a pistol right up to...

2018 updated

Well, i just checked the date of my last post, it seems it was nearly a year and a half ago. So much time passed, so much has happened. We are currently enjoting HRH 12, over in Wales, for the last time. From 2019 we head over to Great Yarmouth. Seen a few bands, drank a few beers and talked the talk. Sometimes i wonder why i go to see the bands that i have seen before. Sometimes, not always, the set is the same, the clothes are the same and the songs are the same. An example was Saxon last night. The set up on stage was exactly the same as every gig i have been to of theirs, the music that they played was virtually the same and they were dressed exactly the same( well Biff was anyway). Don't get me wrong, they give a good performance, but we want to see something different. We want to hear new songs as well as the classics. We want to take away new memories, not the same ones. I think i may think wisely about who i pay to see based on how they are performing. Iron maiden show the...

Camper open for airing and checking

Opened up the camper today after nearly a year. Was expecting the worst but doesnt seem that bad. Hopefully get away in it now i have a tow bar on my car. Cats seem to enjoy it anyway.

2017 update

So far all seems to be going well. Managed to buy myself a 4x4 but not without some issues. Had a few fuel problems after getting it home, it did not want to start and seemed to be sucking in air. Fuel filter replaced for the correct one for my car, fuel pipe from filter to pump replaced, fuel pipe from filter to tank replaced. That was when we found the issue, the tank had bren bodged! For some unknown reason someone had drilled 2 holes for the filler pipe and return pipe. Contaminated fuel and leaking fuel. So after paying £1080 the bill just went up by another £300, mostly labour costs. I wish i was a mechanic. But now the car is doing great. Hopefully going iff roading at the end of the month, lets hope the 4 wheel drive works ok. Had a great time at hammerfest. Long journey but always worthwhile. Had one of our friends have a booze influenced injury though. Now facing 3 months of recovery after fracturing his knee. Need to open up the trailer soon to see ehat state i...
Happy Happy Time Well so far this year and we are only on the 12th. We have paid off my 50th birthday event, booked accommodation for a family wedding in Norfolk, and got the final sign off date for purchasing our house(just waiting for the council to get back to the solicitors, typical). So far the year is going well Still to come is bonus time! will I get enough to buy the new car hat I want? I am looking for a 4x4 specifically either a Isuzu Trooper or a Mitsibushi Pajero, been offered one of these in really good nick for £2250 so need that amount as a minimum. Pictures to come of the new car when I get it. Now time to look for some more accommodation, for a few days away with my partner in Lancaster. They all seem a bit steep though, and thats for mid week.

Hobby time So, i have now taken up Airfix and other plastic modeling. Well I had but then our son moved back home and I lost my craft room. I have managed to fit most of it into the bedroom but most days there are towels and clothes on the table. Before I lost my space and mojo, I did manage to complete one Model and start another two. The completed one is a Heinkell 111. As i have not modeled for over 30 years it is not as good as some of the other offerings I see on the web. How they manage to get them so detailed I will never know.  I was quite impressed with this effort. Hand painted rather than spray painted. Very difficult to get the airmen correct as they are so small and my eyesight is not as good as it used to be. I want to try and get some diorama training done, I have some old model train scenery so hopefully I can use that as it is nearly the same size. I have recently started a landrover and a hurricane. I tried to mask the hurricane but it all went wrong and ha...

Been away too long

Hello honey I'm home :)

2013 so far

Image
Where the hell has the year gone?? Already May and it seems like only yesterday it was xmas. Managed to do a fair bit so far though. Hammerfest saw us return to Hafan Y Mor for another 3 days of mayhem and boozery. Whilst listening to some good music of course. Only got to see a few bands this time though as, don't tell everyone, but shouty shouty music is not my scene, I prefer music that you can understand what they are singing as well as listen to some great music in the background. I go to Hammerfest for the insane humour and daftness that is my friends. None the less we did manage to see Sodom, Candlemass and a few others. It was more about having an excellent time and we still had awesome music in our chalets. The trip home was just as good as I took a wrong turning and ended up driving through the welsh hills that were totally covered in snow. Shirl was not amused hehe. Next came Australian Pink Floyd, totally awesome. Went with my older brother who I did not thin...

Its been awhile

Its been a few months since I last posted. Not a lot has happened in my life. A few back issues, gym work, normal work etc etc. You know life! Looking forward I see a future that is not much changed from what it has been for the last 15 - 16 years. Life with my beautiful partner, get time with my grown up step kids. Make up for lost time when it comes to music (got a few booked already this year with Download, Hammerfest and Hard Rock Hell). Just basically enjoy life to the full, well within financial means anyway. I see a slimmer me, been going to the gym again since the osteopath sorted out my back and now got a new membership with Virgin Active. I reckon 3 times a week, mostly cardio workouts to bring my weight down. Not one of those that wants to look like Arnie, lol. My ideal weight(not Shirls) is about 14 stone. I reckon if I can get to that then I should look a lot better and feel a lot better. My hill walking is going to be limited this year, Ben Nevis is going to be off the c...

Olympic Qtr final. Team GB v South Korea

Image
What a night. The amount of people pouring out of cars, buses, trains and walking was unbelievable. All heading for the same place, The Millenium Stadium, to see whether Team GB could do better than England. Inside the stadium the roof was closed due to the poor weather outside and the sounds and sights were absolutely overwhelming. It was so loud, it was like being next to speakers at a rock concert. The stage was set now it was up to 11 players from Great Britain to show us how they play football to win! No one should ever underestimate South Korea, a team that had played well in the last 5 years. A team that wanted to win, would they have more to give than Team GB? The game started well, with some great teamwork, but never really threatening from Team GB. South Korea got the opener with a great shot from outside of the area. This just showed how open the Team GB defence was. More toing and throwing and then Team GB got themselves a penalty. Up steps Ramsey and in goes the goa...

Was I really like that?

It comes to usa all I suppose when we look at young people now and think were we like that when we were young? The answer is simply, most probably! The reckless driving, the wild partying, different women every week. I remember some of the stupid things I did when I was younger( a lot younger), driving the works van into a parked car because I was drunk, rolling a car through a hedge because I was going too fast, crashing a motorbike because I took a corner too fast. Then there was the time the local village had a mass fight with next doors village because someone hit me with a baseball bat! Taking drugs till I overdosed, waking up to a bottle of vodka every morning before work, until I drove my forklift into a 25 gallon drum of poison. Then I grew up. Now wherever I drive I see flowers by the side of the road where someone has died, either through speeding, reckless driving or somebody else driving in the same way. Young kids slumped on the floor down town through binge drinking ...

Santa is quitting!

A Christmas Story   'Twas the night before Christmas--Old Santa was pissed.  He cussed out the elves and threw down his list.  Miserable little brats, ungrateful little jerks. I have a good mind to scrap the whole works!  I've busted my ass for damn near a year,  Instead of "Thanks Santa"--what do I hear?  The old lady bitches cause I work late at night. The elves want more money--The reindeer all fight.  Rudolph got drunk and goosed all the maids.  Donner is pregnant and Vixen has AIDS. And just when I thought that things would get better  Those assholes from the IRS sent me a letter,  They say I owe taxes--if that ain't damn funny  Who the hell ever sent Santa Claus any money?  And the kids these days--they all are the pits  They want the impossible--Those mean little shits  I spent a whole year making wagons and sleds Assembling dolls...Their arms, legs and heads I made a ton ...

Why

I started life as a little molecule in my mums womb. I grew and became a child of life. When it was time I got kicked out of that warm place where I got fed all the time and I could sleep all the time if I wanted. It was really bright when I came out into the open and then I saw someone holding me in there hands. Then they looked at me, god! what a sight! I started to scream but they just kept making silly noises at me. Then they washed me and put me in this cage that I couldn't get out of. I get kicked out of some where nice and warm and get put into a bloody cage! Over time more and more people started sticking these ugly mugs in front of my face, I started to get used to the fact that not everybody can be beautiful. This woman started sticking things off her body into my mouth and then this warm stuff started coming out and it was quite tasty. Life carried on for a few years and I got bigger and bolder. I had to do what I was told when I was told to do it, or I got hit or shoute...

government

Well we are supposed to be voting on thursday but who for? It would be a lot better if it was a general election so we can get rid of the unelected prime minister! I didn't vote him in, you didn't vote him in, why is he there? When a prime minister is removed from office they should automatically hold a general election, this will ensure the person in charge is there because at least the majority of us want him there. Personally I believe no matter who goes into power they will still do what they want and not what we want. Give me a politition that wants to help this country and I will vote for him/her. They must want to spend money on the poverty in this country before another. Tidy up our enviroment (litter, sub standard living, save green spaces, knock down and build on derelict industrial/housing areas before using new land)before spending money on other countries that won't do anything for themselves. Leave the european union! Give me a politition that is brave enough ...

trip to london

Well so far it is going ok! I have queued for ever to get in the natural history museum only to have to come out because there were that many kids in there you couldn't really get to the exhibits. I did get to see a tyrannasaurus rex skeleton though. I then went for a strole, actually it was a long walk as I got lost, but all was not bad! During my lost time I saw baden powell house, most embassy's for every country possible, princess diana's memorial fountain, and I had a snack in a cafe over looking the serpentine. Not bad considering I have no map!

xmas

You know I always thought that the costumes of xmas only came out once a year. It seems I was wrong. My son is an avid xmas person. He loves talking about it because he knows he is going to get something good. He likes the snow of winter. He loves the food. But secretly I think he loves the music. We were sat there watching tv the other day and this advert came on. I only heard the first few notes and knew it was a xmas type of song. Before I could even comment on it he had thrown himself across the frontroom floor and screamed xmas at the top of his voice. I don't even know what advert it was for! I was too busy laughing at Lincoln. He had his eyesz glued to the tv screen. Everytime that advert comes on he throws himself forward and has now started thinking about his xmas present and asking what we want for presents. Its only May! To make matters worse Lincoln is 16!

Life

Life comes and life goes. This is an everyday thing. What makes that difference is what you make of life. Everybody has a different idea of how life should be, but somewhere out there are two people that have that same outlook and one day they will meet and their lives will be complete. Unfortunately this does not always happen and you marry the first person you think you love and it ends in a ruined life or divorce! Take your time choosing your life partner or it may ruin our life.
