Olympic Qtr final. Team GB v South Korea
What a night.
The amount of people pouring out of cars, buses, trains and walking was unbelievable. All heading for the same place, The Millenium Stadium, to see whether Team GB could do better than England.
Inside the stadium the roof was closed due to the poor weather outside and the sounds and sights were absolutely overwhelming. It was so loud, it was like being next to speakers at a rock concert.
The stage was set now it was up to 11 players from Great Britain to show us how they play football to win! No one should ever underestimate South Korea, a team that had played well in the last 5 years. A team that wanted to win, would they have more to give than Team GB?
The game started well, with some great teamwork, but never really threatening from Team GB. South Korea got the opener with a great shot from outside of the area. This just showed how open the Team GB defence was. More toing and throwing and then Team GB got themselves a penalty. Up steps Ramsey and in goes the goal, the roar inside the stadium was awesome, if it was possible it would have lifted the roof off. Not so long later and down comes a Team GB player, bought down in the area, another penalty, could we get another goal? Ramsey steps up yet again, oh no, hes saved it! What a miss. This really is going to go to the wire.
It started to get a bit hairy and agressive with many players from both teams getting yellow cards and players having to go off with injuries.
Team GB not seeming to get the ball forward, not showing any vision and not looking up! The defence constantly passing the ball backwards instead of pushing it forward, then off goes Bellamy and on comes Giggs to a raptorous roar from the crowd. What a change in the team, Giggs finding the forwards and having a go at the defence for playing with the ball. 90 mins comes and goes and still a draw, time for two 15min halves, will it go to penalties like we so often see with the England team? South Korea pushing everything forward and then minutes from the end, their goalie gets yellow carded for time wasting. There it is the final whistle, game play stops and penalties and possible doom is in sight?

It is England in every internatianal game they play, poor choice for penalties, poor choice for team but why????
Because the top teams in this country don't play the Brits in their main games, its all about MONEY, foreign players brought in to make teams more and more money. It is ruining the national side. We will never have a team that competes at the very top until the FA makes it harder for teams to push them to one side, makes it harder for teams to buy players when they don't have the money to afford them or pay them. Portsmouth and Rangers are the examples i will use where they have spent so much money on players and not recouped it through sales, they end up in administration.
Come on FA show some balls! Stop being scared of these top flight managers and directors and stop being scared of Sky, just because they give you so much money.
